The parametric Shapr3D alternative for makers.

Zenve3D is a Shapr3D alternative built for 3D printing, enclosures and brackets: sketch, constrain, extrude, and change any dimension later. Pro is $99.99 a year against Shapr3D's $299, and the free plan exports STEP.

Why switch

Why makers switch from Shapr3D to Zenve3D

Four things a Shapr3D user notices in the first hour with this alternative.

Parametric is the model, not a mode

Shapr3D started as a direct modeler and added history later. Zenve3D is parametric from the first sketch: the timeline is the part, so editing an early sketch or a named parameter rebuilds everything after it — the way Fusion 360 users expect.

A third of the price, and a price that ends

Shapr3D Pro is $299 a year. Zenve3D Pro is $99.99 a year, and Pro Lifetime is $299.99 once — a year of Shapr3D buys a lifetime of Zenve3D. One purchase covers the iPad, the Mac and the browser.

A free plan that is the whole app

Shapr3D Basic stops at two designs and low-resolution STL. The Zenve3D free plan is every feature and every export, STEP included, on three synced projects. The only thing Pro changes is the project count.

Your AI can build parts

Every Zenve3D part is a plain-text script, and agent mode lets Claude, ChatGPT or any MCP client drive the engine from a description. Shapr3D has no scripting door. Agent mode costs nothing on any plan.

Where Shapr3D is still the better choice

An honest Shapr3D alternative page names what it does not do. Shapr3D is a bigger product from a bigger team, and some of it Zenve3D does not have yet.

  • Windows and Apple Vision Pro apps. Zenve3D is native on iPad and Mac; on a Windows PC it runs in the browser.
  • Technical drawings, rendering and AR viewing, all on Shapr3D Pro.
  • Native imports of SolidWorks, NX and other vendor formats. Zenve3D imports STEP.
  • Team projects with shared editing. Zenve3D syncs one maker's library across devices; teams are planned.

If those are on your list, Shapr3D earns its price. If you make printed parts, enclosures and brackets and want to change your mind about a dimension next month, keep reading.

Switching

Moving from Shapr3D to Zenve3D

Three steps. The geometry comes across; the history you rebuild where it matters.

  1. 1

    Export STEP from Shapr3D

Shapr3D Pro exports STEP, X_T and IGES — pick STEP. The Basic plan exports STL and 3MF only, which Zenve3D does not import: a mesh has no faces to sketch on.

  2. 2

Import it into Zenve3D as a solid

The STEP file lands as an editable body at its real dimensions. Sketch on its flat faces, extrude, cut, fillet and shell as if you had modeled it here.

  3. 3

Rebuild what you will keep editing

An imported body carries no timeline. For the parts you change often, redraw them as recipes — or describe them to an agent and let it write the script. Parts you only print can stay as imported.

Pricing

Zenve3D pricing, next to Shapr3D's

Shapr3D Pro is $299 a year per seat. Everything below is Zenve3D's list price — the same in the app and in the browser, and the web is never cheaper than the App Store.

Shapr3D alternative: the questions

Is Zenve3D a free Shapr3D alternative?
Yes. The free plan is the full app on three synced projects — every sketch tool, every feature, STL and STEP export — with no card and no trial clock. Shapr3D Basic stops at two designs and low-resolution STL.
Does Zenve3D have history-based parametric modeling like Shapr3D?
Zenve3D is parametric first: sketches, constraints, expression-backed dimensions, named parameters and a Fusion-style timeline you can scrub and edit. Shapr3D added history-based modeling to a direct modeler; in Zenve3D the history is the model.
Can I open my Shapr3D designs in Zenve3D?
Export STEP from Shapr3D and import it. The geometry arrives as an editable solid; the feature history does not, because it belongs to Shapr3D's own file format.
Does this Shapr3D alternative run on Windows?
In the browser. The native apps are for iPad and Mac; app.zenve3d.com runs the same engine on any machine with a modern browser, and one account syncs all three.
What does Zenve3D not do that Shapr3D does?
Technical drawings, rendering, AR viewing, Windows and Vision Pro apps, and team editing. Each one is named on this page rather than hidden.
How much cheaper is Zenve3D than Shapr3D?
Shapr3D Pro is $299 a year. Zenve3D Pro is $99.99 a year or $14.99 a month, and Pro Lifetime is $299.99 once. The free plan is free for as long as you like.

Ready to try the Shapr3D alternative?

Zenve3D is free on the iPad, the Mac and the browser. Import a STEP file from Shapr3D, or start a part from a blank sketch — and change your mind later.
